Dear Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra Family,

After a successful 25th Anniversary Season, we are looking forward to another wonderful year of music on the Delmarva Peninsula. It has been my honor and privilege to join this wonderful organization, and we have so many exciting events ahead to share with you.

As always, the MSO welcomes top-notch soloists to perform for you. Among many others, this year we are joined by cellist Amit Peled and pianist Jeffrey Biegel, regarded as two of the finest soloists worldwide. Amit will perform Dvořák’s scintillating Cello Concerto, and Jeffrey will play a brand-new work, "Rhapsody in Red White and Blue," which celebrates the 100th anniversary of Gershwin's epic "Rhapsody in Blue." These performances will be premieres in both Maryland and Delaware and are part of a 50-state commissioning project for the work, marking the first time the Mid-Atlantic Symphony has participated in such an endeavor. We are proud to represent both states as this work gets performed in all 50!

Another significant highlight is the evolution of the Elizabeth Loker International Concerto Competition, which this year will bring not only one but THREE all-star young soloists to our stage. The performance in March will be the culmination of the competition, and you will even have a chance to participate in the final round by voting for the Audience Prize! This event is not to be missed, so we look forward to seeing you there!

As always, our annual Holiday Joy and New Year's Eve concerts will cause your spirits to soar. This year joining the MSO are the talented soloists, Claire Galloway, soprano, Rob McGinness, baritone, and Taylor Hillary Boykins, mezzo-soprano. We are certain that you are going to love each of these gifted artists’ performances.

Our MSO concerts are a fun and welcoming time for all - we look forward to seeing you at the concerts!

Sincerely,

Michael Repper
